Missing you and hoping that you're missing me too.

These pictures are from a picnic I held in the park last
week to raise money for Project Trust (check my vlog).

Hello beautiful people,
Do you ever get those nights when you lay in bed thinking about someone you haven't spoken to in a long time. You start to miss them a lot and wonder if they miss you too. For a split second you pick up the phone, put their name in to a text before erasing it, thinking you'll do it another day.  It always shocks me how today someone can be your bestfriend and tomorrow you'll be trying to remember their names as you tell the new people in your life a funny anecdote. The worst thing about it is that you don't usually realise; It starts as meeting up less, calling less, texting less until it turns into two years with not even as little as a hi. You're probably wondering where this rant came from. At my picnic, I saw a few of my old bestfriends. I never thought I'd ever stop speaking to them and somehow, I don't even know when, but I did

'I'm leaving because the weather is too good. I hate London when it's not raining.' Groucho Marx

What a perfect quote. I'm one of those people who love layers and layers of clothes under a heavy duffle jacket so summer is not the best time for me. Do not mistake what I'm saying, the sun is nice, but I find it hard to enjoy over long periods of time. I need the breeze, the dark afternoons and the thick jumpers to make me happy. I'll need to get used to it for my gap year though. Remember this post because I'm sure that will all change once I come back from Africa next year. I'll be complaining about winter. I do wish I'd embraced a little more of the London winter now that it's nearly time for me to leave. I'm not going to see it for a while and that hurts. I was in London last week when I realised that I'm actually going to miss London either way, winter or summer. Although I moved to Essex quite a while ago, I could still wake up in the morning, get on a train and be in London without having to think twice. A year without walking down embankment (where the London Eye is) or ice cream in Leicester square or pool in Soho. How will I survive?

Je m'ennuie: I miss: Clueless

These are photos from the movie, but I miss it all - the movie, the show, the clothes. Growing up, I loved this program so much. I even tried to dress like them. This is probably where my obsession with everything preppy stemmed from.Well, that and Gossip Girl.
The name of the show definitely fits the main character, Cher, who seems to be able to make being good-natured as superficial skipping school because you have broken a nail. I'm not too sure why my mind went here today, but it probably has something to do with fact that I've finished school and miss it ever so slightly. So tell me, what are you missing?

A Dream Within A Dream

Some nights I lie there not wanting the day to end because I may not get another day so perfect. Some days I wake up and go back to sleep because I don't want that dream to end. And some people I never want to leave because I don't want to wait to see them again.

A Dream Within A Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Summer Stampede

On Saturday, I had backstage passes to a festival. I must admit, it was exciting. The only thing I regret is not being able to meet my favourite band. I'm sure there will be more oppurtunities... I hope.

'Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.' Buddha

So today I went to Brick Lane to get myself some vintage sunglasses as the sun is started to show its face and it's about time it did. From someone who is a fan of winter, I must admit I've missed laying around in my shorts on a lovely warm day. I don't think the weather is about there yet, but it's surely getting there.

Today, my friend and I discussed something and when the story was retold, we both couldn't agree on how it went. It made me realise how different people interpret situations. Of course, I still think my story is the right story, but I'm sure she thinks the same. Do you not wonder whether things would be different if we didn't see things our way, but the right way. I'm sure friendships and relationships may last that little longer. You're probably thinking 'why is she stating something so obvious', but it's just a thought. Most people get in to disagreements feeling like the victim,  but there can't be two victims. As the common quotes goes, 'Don't believe in everything you hear or you see, there are always three sides to every story. Your's, theirs and the truth...'.
